Dirk J. Derrick

The owner of the South Carolina-based law firm Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers, Dirk J. Derrick has been practicing law in the state for more than three decades. With the main office located in Conway, his firm has several branches spread across South Carolina, of which he focuses his practice primarily in the areas of Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Florence. Drawing on years of experience, he has the skillset and practical knowledge to provide quality representation on cases and legal matters involving:

Born in Myrtle Beach and raised in Conway, Mr. Derrick earned a football scholarship to attend Wofford College, from where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics in 1982. He coached football at the East Tennessee State University for a while and later in 1987, graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law with his Juris Doctor. 

The success in his field of practice earned Mr. Derrick a partnership within just three years of graduating from law school. In 1991, he established Derrick Law Firm Injury Lawyers and has been striving to stand up for the people of South Carolina who seek legal assistance. He has obtained seven-figure settlements and verdicts as compensation for his injury clients. 

Mr. Derrick keeps his clients informed on each step of the litigation and makes sure that they have a clear understanding of their situation and options. Believing in the need to contribute to one’s community, Mr. Derrick sets apart time for supporting the Children’s Mentoring Program of Horry County and sponsoring interstate football tournaments and marathons. In addition, he is a co-founder of The Rock Church, Conway’s community church. He has also authored several publications such as The Truth About Your South Carolina Injury Claim, based on his areas of practice.
